Toxic Sludge Floods Areas In Hungary

Tuesday, October 5, 2010, toxic sludge flooded about 15
square miles in Hungary. This sludge leaked from an alumina plant that produces
aluminum. So far four people have died from the flooding. I am not sure if it
is due to the toxins or due to drowning. The article was not too clear on that.
But many more were injured and hundreds have since been displaced.

According to the article(click the link) environmentalist
has been warning the government of the risk of red sludge’s risks for
about 7 years now. The company responsible for this catastrophe says there was
no way they could have predicted this may occur. This is sad.
