Rick Ross & Young Jeezy Fight At The BET Awards & Shots Ring!!

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Jeezy/Ross beef was like so (like) a decade ago... (I'm exaggerating, of course, but really, when was the last time that beef was even referenced? O.o)

TMZ reports:

A fight broke out backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards tonight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy that resulted in shots being fired .. sources at the awards tell TMZ. According to our sources, Ross and Jeezy exchanged words backstage and started pushing and shoving each other. We're told BET security and bodyguards for each of the rappers eventually separated the two. Our sources on the scene say that after the fight had been broken up, a member of Rick Ross' entourage pulled out a gun while in the parking lot and shots were fired. It is unclear if the man was arrested. We're told Jeezy and Ross are still at the awards, which are being taped tonight in Atlanta and air next month. Story developing ...

Well, damn!! Is all'a dis even necessary??

"Don't Judge Me" Chris Brown [Video]

I love me some Breezy, but this video ain't got shit to do with the song. (Or did I miss it?) The song is about his girl hearing rumors about him cheating and him saying, "Please don't judge me."  The video is about him going on a Sci-Fi mission to stop some contraption in outer space??

Soldier "Accidentally" Kills Fellow Soldier While Attempting To Cure Victim's Hiccups

In Texas,  27-year-old soldier shot and killed a 22-year-old soldier when he was only trying to scare the young man's hiccups away...

From Huffington Post:

Police arrested a soldier in Texas who they say accidentally shot his friend and fellow member of the military in a joke gone wrong.

Army Spc. Patrick Edward Myers allegedly pointed his gun at his friend’s head to scare him and stop his hiccups on Sunday night, the Associated Press reports.

The 27-year-old soldier, stationed at Fort Hood, apparently thought the gun had dummy rounds when it discharged into the victim's face, according to police. But, in actuality, the weapon had real bullets.

Myers was "handling it in an unsafe manner," said a statement from the Killeen Police Department.

The two friends were drinking and watching a football game at the time of the shooting, a Killeen Police press release said.

The 22-year-old victim, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, died during the ambulance ride to the hospital.

Myers is charged with manslaughter and his bond was set at $1 million.

WOW!! Who plays games like this??!  Really... Just senseless as hell!

Pure Insanity: Sulfuric Acid Is Thrown In A Woman's Face By A Complete Stranger!

You can never be too careful and mindful of your surroundings.  A San Diego woman recently suffered injuries from what seems to be a random attack with acid by a stranger:

From NBC News:

A man allegedly threw sulfuric acid on a woman who was walking into a Golden Hill laundromat just before 6 a.m. Saturday, police confirmed.

The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for second-degree burns on her face, arms and back. Officials said the victim was injured pretty badly.

She described the suspect's vehicle to police as an older model, dark blue BMW. She told police she did not know the suspect.

About 20 minutes later, police arrested a 55-year-old man in a dark blue BMW who was causing a disturbance nearby at a Shell Gas Station at 2484 F Street.

The woman positively identified the man at the gas station as the same man who threw the caustic chemicals at her in front of the laundromat. Police said the suspect’s name is Arturo Jose Reyes.

Hazardous Materials officials later identified the chemical substance thrown at the victim as sulfuric acid, police said. Hazmat crews decontaminated the scene at 25th Street following the attack.

Reyes was taken into custody and booked into San Diego Central Jail. He's being charged with assault with a caustic chemical and aggravated mayhem.

According to police, when a person is guilty of aggravated mayhem he or she intentionally causes permanent disability or disfigurement of another person, manifesting extreme indifference to the physical or psychological well-being of another person.

Reyes could face life in prison with the possibility of parole if he’s found guilty.

Police said the motive for the assault is under investigation.

(What in da....??)

Kinda In The Dark About The 200 New Features The iOS 6 Update Gave???

...Me, too!

I was so excited about this new update to the Apple products' operating system!! Granted, my anxiousness was mainly due to the promise of a standard vocal Map, but ya know... Excitement all the same.

And then, one fine day I saw that 200 new features were coming with the update and I was ecstatic! 200 new features?!! My phone's gonna be like..like...like.. A freakin' spaceship! ('cause I love exaggerating when the time calls)

1 PM came on September 19th and I took a 15-20 minute break from work to complete my iOS 6 download. (Wasn't playin' no games!) Immediately, I played around with it a bit.  Noticed the Music app, iTunes and App store have different layouts than before.  Passbook, which I have yet to get to work, was placed on my 1st home screen. When calls come in there is now a phone handset icon to the side that allows me to send a text message instead of answering the call. And my emoticons are replaced with new, more bubbly ones as well as quite a few new additions to the old stock. So far, so neat, I suppose. But where's the other, like, 194 new features?

Being the Google Queen that I am, I set to find out. In my search I came across an article that gives insight on the many updates to the Settings. Click Here for that article.  I found that you can set different signatures for different email accounts. That comes in handy. Before this system update I left the generic "Sent from iPhone" as the sig. But now, I've set two of my four diff emails with a professional signature and a Mckenzie Lacroix signature.  The other two remain set with "Sent from iPhone".  They don't get much love.

I also learned that you can choose to ignore certain calls and alerts, (or rather accept only certain calls and alerts).  And that you must log in to your Facebook and Twitter accounts in settings to have that full-integration. As well as a few other things that I don't quite remember but will revisit when boredom strikes. (Insert a countdown)

Oh yeah.. I used Maps for the first time yesterday while trying to locate a bakery at the National Harbor and it kinda like... FAILED me!! Anyone that has visited the Harbor knows it is all but 3 streets wide and one street long.. 'kay.  Maps took me 'round and 'round a good 3x! Finally, I said "To HELL!! With this damn map!" and began looking for the street name and building number my damn self.  I found it. The Map continued to tell me "Destination is on the left" while I was on the Main Street. Didn't account for the side street that is behind the main street that the bakery is actually located on. o.O But, all's well that ends well. I got my huge slice of Strawberry Buttercream Chocolate cake.

Anyways..The search is still on for those other 150 updates..

Apple Updates: iPhone 5 & iOS 6

See that?..

So, everybody been buzzin' about September 12th! The day that Apple would be unveiling the latest in it's iPhone lineup: the iPhone 5!! And with it, the iOS 6

...Or so we all thought. Apple did some unveiling alright... Of (very near-future) dates.

From CNET:

Apple will release the next version of its iOS mobile operating system, iOS 6, on Sept. 19.
The Cupertino company announced the release date along with theiPhone 5 today at an event in San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
As with previous years, the iPhone 5 will come with iOS 6, while owners of older iPhones can download the new software in an over-the-air update or through iTunes. The iPhone 5 will be on sale on Sept. 21, but other device owners can download the new system earlier.
A key addition is a new Apple-created mapping app -- which Apple is debuting after axing Google Maps. The update will also have an improved Siri, Apple's digital assistant, that can open apps via voice command. Another notable change is the ability to conduct Facetime video chats over a 3G cellular network, a feature that's prompted discussion about its impact to data plans.
The new system is said to have 200 new features including tighter Facebook integration, more phone-answering options and a Passbook app for storing boarding passes, movie tickets, and other location-based items.

I often wonder why I seriously boast #teamiPhone; knowing the whole while that Android's features and restriction-free steez is the best 'round.... Anywayz, I really need this iOS 6 update in my life! Siri gets an update, Maps gets a voice, and I just may fuck with FB a bit more, with full-integration.  I'm excited! And I will be either waking up a little early on the 19th or going to sleep super late on the 18th/midnight. (Whichevz. I need this update!)

A Georgia Student That Used To Walk 15 Miles To School Has Been Gifted A Car By A Complete Stranger!!

In August, 20 year-old Branden Whitehead was making his usual 15 mile trek from West Georgia Technical College when he was struck by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene. The accident left him with broken ribs, a punctured lung and many cuts and bruises.

After hearing his story on the local news, Vanessa Peebles, a stranger to Whitehead, gave the young student her 1990 Cadillac.

From Huffington Post:

Branden Whitehead, a 20-year-old college student, was walking home from school last month when he was struck and critically injured in a hit and run accident, MyFoxAtlanta.com reported. The West Georgia Technical College student walks 15 miles to and from school, carrying a heavy bag of books--the trek takes four and a half hours.

In the accident, Whitehead suffered cuts, broken ribs and a punctured lung. Police are still investigating.

Vanessa Peebles saw Whitehead's story on the news, and knew she had to do something.

"The thought of my kid walking, I don't even want to think about it. So I said nope, that's it," Peebles told Fox 5.

Peebles decided to give Whitehead her 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood. The commute will now only take the student 15 minutes.

The car, which needs some work but is generally in good condition, comes with only one caveat, Peebles said. He has to stay in school. "I want to see you a surgeon one day," she told the surgical tech in training, in an emotional interview aired on Fox this weekend.

This story has major "WOW"'s going on: A woman gives a stranger her car. A young man is critically injured in a hit-and-run accident. But the biggest, for me, is the fact that this guy wakes up and actually walks 15 miles to school. Stays on campus for however long (getting educated). Then makes the long walk back home. It's not clear if her does this daily or every other day or what... Even if he makes that trip just once a week, that's enough for me to hang my head in shame.

I spoke to a friend earlier about how inspirational this story is. We both agreed that neither of us would be attending school if we had to walk 15 miles to get there. (And another 15 to get back???--Forget it!!) I'm sure that every last person that reads this post feel just as we do.  It's amazing how blessed we all are and how little we care to use ourselves and our lives to the greatest potential possible.  This man is true testament to, "As long as you have working legs and feet, you got transportation."  Do you know, I don't even walk to the corner store?! That is just lazy. If I had drive (no pun intended) like Whitehead, I wonder: Where would I be?

Of The Desperate Variety: Chad (OchoNegro) Johnson Tatts Face of Estranged Wife On His Leg!!

OchoNegro done, done it! His estranged wife, Evelyn Lozada, says she wants absolutely nothing to do with him after he bust her damn forehead open over HIS cheating!! And the NFL wants nothing to do with his ass. Not much of anything or anybody wants much to do with his ass, it appears. And he pulls this stunt. A big, stupid tatt of Evelyn's face on his leg.

TMZ.com reports that it may be temporary. Let's hope so. It's mind-boggling: The things niggas do in attempts to correct wrongs... It's over!! In many ways for this guy. No amount of ugly tatts can correct that fateful, violent night in his driveway.

And you know what...If he weren't as arrogant as he is, this would actually, maybe be a sad situation for him. BUT he is arrogant. Extremely arrogant. And cocky and conceited for no reason!  I can't feel bad for the bad luck and choices this dude makes and suffers through. (Just Karma serving up a dose.)

"Cockiness" (Remix) Rihanna ft. A$AP Rocky [Audio]

Not that Ri Ri's "Cockiness" needed a feature from one of the hottest young up-comers... But, Rocky's a good look on the track.
