The Parents of the Duggar Family Speak on (Josh's) Molestation Scandal

Duggar Family

I shall begin this post with this statement:  I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE DUGGARS!--Not the parents, not the trillion kids they have.. None of 'em.  But they have been plastered all over the news lately since criminal records have been uncovered of their then, 15 year old son, Josh, who molested four of his younger sisters as well as other little girls.  I wasn't going to speak on this at all because I have never watched their show and never even heard of them prior to this recent news revelation, but I came across quotes from the parents' first interview since the shit hit the fan and I am perturbed and freakin' disturbed!!

Josh Duggar
First, the parents are extremely upset that the media even got a hold of their baby Josh's juvenile criminal record, which they say should have been sealed, and from my understanding the local deputy has since destroyed.   Even moreso upset over that than the fact that their teenage son...TEENAGE son.. touched their 5 year old daughter in ANY sexual manner.  And that baffles me.  Even more than the fact that the family downs gays.  Wasn't Josh leading some sort of antigay crusade or something?  (A position he has been stripped of)  But really, who in the hell are y'all to condemn anyone?!!

In this recent interview, the father, Jim Bob, says that Josh came to himself and his wife saying that he was "curious" and had touched his baby sisters over their clothing as they slept.  Supposedly, per the father, Josh confessed to his parents on three separate occasions.  On the third time around they decided that they needed to remove Josh from the home and sent him to Little Rock, AR to stay with a family friend.

From Huffington Post:

“After that third time he came to us is where we really felt like, we have done everything we can as parents…We need to get help," Jim Bob said, adding that their solution was to send Josh to Little Rock, Arkansas to do construction work with a family friend, who was not a licensed counselor.
Jim Bob also noted that, "As parents you aren't mandatory reporters." He pressed that Josh "was still a kid and he was still a juvenile. He wasn't an adult...This wasn't rape or anything like that. This was touching over the clothes."
Both parents admitted they felt guilty after learning Josh's behavior continued, but "the truth is that kids will make their own choices," Jim Bob said.
The Duggars claimed that all their children received professional counseling, including Josh, who Michelle said paid for his own treatment.
When asked if they were worried the treatment didn't work, Jim Bob said, "Josh is a changed person."
Michelle also revealed the family now has "safe guards" in place, including not letting the boys babysit, not letting younger ones sit on older boys' laps, and not playing hide and go seek.
The Duggars attempted to turn things around, claiming that the real injustice is that police records were allegedly illegally obtained, and Josh's sealed juvenile records were exposed.
Sisters Jessa Seewald, 22, and Jill Dillard, 24, (née Duggar) also broke their silence, confirming they were two of the minors whom Josh molested -- though those aren't the term they're using.
"I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist, some people are saying,” Jessa told Kelly in an interview that will air on Friday . “I’m like, ‘That is so overboard and a lie really.’ I mean people get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims.”
Because the statute of limitation on this case has expired, Josh can no longer be prosecuted despite his recent confession.
However, In Touch has obtained a new police report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that states Josh told his father on three separate occasions that he performed sexual acts on four of his younger sisters and a family friend. The document, which isn't as heavily redacted as previous ones, makes it clear that Josh was 15 at the time he abused a 5-year-old girl and committed at least seven acts of molestation.
In the weeks since the scandal broke, TLC has pulled "19 Kids and Counting" from its schedule, but has yet to make a long-term decision about the fate of the show -- even as more than 20 advertisers have pulled sponsorship from the series.
Imagine how many people probably watched this family and thought to themselves, "I wish my family were more like them...Good, God-fearing family with great kids!"  Just imagine.  And the whole time they weren't what they appeared.  My goodness! Beyond that let's imagine how long this weird teenage boy was manipulating his innocent little sisters!!

Yes, teenagers' hormones rage.  Everyone that has ever been a teenager knows this.  Matter of fact, anyone that has ever lived through any stage of adolescence..even prepubescence, knows the curiosity that goes on.  But as a teenager, who runs to little kids for pleasure??  Around about that age there's experimentation with a girlfriend going on, isn't it?--Oh.. But his Christian family probably frowned upon premarital sex. (Let's not ever forget those good ole values.)

Though it is possible, I'd bet he didn't just start "touching his clothed sisters(and others)" at the age of 15, which would have made the poor girls even younger than 5.  WOW!  But, I guess they think it's alright because, at least he wasn't touching little boys, huh?

How on Earth can they live with themselves downing the Gays like that??  As if they have any room to get all sanctified on anyone or preference.

This is just horrible.

..And yet another lesson to those that look up to these reality tv families.. Even the Holy Rollers ain't right. (Especially, the Holy Rollers.)
